What is No Claim Bonus (NCB) in Bike Insurance?

No Claim Bonus is the premium discount that the insurance companies provide to their policyholders for driving safely and without filing any claim during the previous policy year. While renewing a comprehensive two-wheeler insurance policy, this discount would be provided on the vehicle's insurance premium for that particular policyholder. The discount ranges from 20% to 50%.

The customer needs to get the two-wheeler insurance renewed on a continuous basis to retain this No Claim Bonus. In case NCB is not applied for in time, it will lapse. For this, the insurance companies give a grace period of 90 days from the date of expiry to avoid such losses. However, beyond this date, if the policy is not renewed, then it gets cancelled along with the accumulated NCB. The NCB has other benefits also- it is transferable in nature. In case you wish to shift to some other two-wheeler insurance provider or sell your bike to buy another one, the NCB is not lost.
