Basic health insurance may not pay for treatment of very serious diseases. The National Critical Illness Policy helps pay for the costs of these serious illnesses. Anyone who is 18 years or older can buy this insurance. Children from 3 months to 18 years can also be covered, but only if their parents have this insurance too. The policy comes in two plans:Plan A: Covers 11 serious illnesses.Plan B: Covers 37 serious illnesses (this includes the 11 illnesses in Plan A).You can choose to insure from Rs 1 lakh up to Rs 75 lakh.
