Uttar Pradesh RTO (Regional Transport Office)

RTO Uttar Pradesh, also known as RTO UP, or UP RTO, is related to India’s most populous state and has 76 Regional Transport Offices overseen by the Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation. Established under Section 213 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, these UP RTOs handle all transport-related work across the state.

Their duties include issuing and renewing driver’s licences and vehicle registrations, enforcing traffic laws, collecting road taxes, and managing services like ownership transfers, hire-purchase agreements, and No Objection Certificates (NOCs). In short, the UP RTO ensures that drivers, vehicles, and traffic follow the rules set by the Motor Vehicles Act throughout Uttar Pradesh.
