SBI Comprehensive Car Insurance

SBI General’s comprehensive car insurance gives you many benefits. Unlike the basic third-party cover, this plan protects your car, you, and others if there is an accident. It covers damage or theft of your car, injury or death of you or other people, and damage to other people's property.

It also protects against things like fire, explosion, accidents, natural disasters, and riots. If you choose to pay a small part of the repair cost yourself (called Voluntary Excess), you can get a discount on your insurance price.

What is Covered and Not Covered in Comprehensive Car Insurance?

Every insurance plan has things it covers and things it does not. Here is what SBI Comprehensive Car Insurance includes and excludes:

What it Covers

  • Fire & Explosions

If your car is damaged by fire or an explosion, the insurance will pay for it.

  • Accidents

If your car gets damaged in an accident, the insurance covers the cost.

  • Third-Party Liability

If your car hurts someone or damages their car or property, the insurance pays for it.

  • Natural & Manmade Disasters

Covers damage from things like floods, earthquakes, riots, or vandalism.

  • Theft

If your car is stolen, you’ll get money based on your car’s value (called IDV) written in your policy.

  • Personal Accident

If you get hurt in a car accident, the insurance helps with the cost.

What Does it not Cover

  • Depreciation

Normal wear and tear, like tyres wearing out, is not covered.

  • Mechanical & Electrical Problems

Issues like engine or wiring problems are not included unless you buy extra cover.

  • Driving After Drinking or Drugs

If you drive under the influence and there is damage, insurance will not pay.

  • Intentional Damage

If you damage something on purpose, it won’t be covered.

  • No or Invalid Licence

If you drive without a proper licence, the insurance won’t pay for any damage or injury.
