SBI Third Party Car Insurance

SBI General offers a third-party car insurance plan called "Motor Act Only - Private Car (Long Term)", which is made to follow the rules of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988. This plan helps you avoid paying for damages if your car causes injury, death, or property damage to someone else. It is a 3-year policy, so you do not need to worry about renewing it every year.

You can also add extra benefits to this plan by paying a little more. These include personal accident cover up to Rs. 15 lakh and legal cover for your driver, cleaner, or employees using the car. This policy gives you peace of mind and protects you from big expenses in case of an accident.

What is Covered and Not Covered in SBI Third-Party Car Insurance?

When you buy SBI third-party car insurance, it is good to know what it does and does not cover.

What it Covers

  • Damage to Someone’s Property

If your car damages someone’s property, the third-party insurance will provide compensation.

  • Injury or Death of a Person

If someone is hurt or dies in an accident caused by your car, the insurance will pay the compensation. There is no fixed limit for medical costs; the court will decide the amount.

What Does it not Cover

  • Damage to Your Own Car

This insurance does not cover any damage to your car.

  • Accident While Drunk or on Drugs

If you were driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, the insurance will not pay for the damage.

  • Theft of Your Car

If your car gets stolen, third-party insurance does not cover it.

  • Driving Alone with a Learner’s License

If you have a learner’s license and drive without a licensed adult, your claim will be denied if there is an accident.
