Steps to Apply for the Fastag Annual Pass

• The FASTag Annual Pass was introduced on 18 June 2025 by the Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways.
• It is specially designed for non-commercial private vehicles like cars, jeeps, and vans.
• The pass is not available for commercial vehicles.
• It stays valid for one year from activation or up to 200 trips, whichever comes first.
• It allows hassle-free travel on all National Highways (NH) and National Expressways (NE) across India.
• There are two payment options:
  • Annual Pass: Rs. 3,000 for unlimited access (up to 200 trips)
  • Distance-based Pass: Rs. 50 per 100 km
• The annual pass helps drivers enjoy smooth, cashless, and cost-effective travel without frequent FASTag recharges.

• Vehicle Registration Certificate (RC) of the vehicle.
• A passport-size photograph of the vehicle owner.
• Valid ID proof and address proof of the vehicle owner.
• An active FASTag is affixed properly on the vehicle’s windshield. This should be linked to a valid Vehicle Registration Number (VRN).
• FASTag should not be black-listed or flagged for any dispute.

• Step 1 Ensure your existing FASTag is properly fixed on your vehicle’s windshield and linked to the correct Vehicle Registration Number (VRN). Also, it should be active and not blacklisted.
• Step 2 Download the Rajmarg Yatra app or visit the NHAI official website, then log in using the required details.
• Step 3 Enter your vehicle registration details and FASTag ID, and confirm that your vehicle is a private non-commercial one. This FASTag pass is only available for non-commercial vehicles.
• Step 4 Make a one-time payment of Rs. 3,000 (or choose the distance-based plan) using UPI, net banking, debit, or credit card.
• Step 5 After payment and verification, your FASTag Annual Pass will be activated within a few hours. You will get an SMS confirmation, and your pass will be automatically linked to your FASTag. Once activated, you can enjoy up to 200 toll trips or one year of hassle-free travel on national highways without frequent top-ups.

1Activate your pass

Buy the annual pass from the Rajmarg Yatra app or the NHAI website. Verify your vehicle details, make the payment, and your pass will be active within a few hours.

2Drive freely

After activation, just drive through toll plazas on national highways and expressways covered by the pass.

3Automatic toll process

The system will automatically detect your vehicle and count your trip, so you do not have to stop or pay manually.

4Non-covered routes

On state highways or other expressways not included (like the Yamuna Expressway or the Dwarka Expressway), you will need to pay normal toll charges.

• The FASTag Annual Pass was launched on 15 August 2025.
• It costs Rs. 3,000, offering a fixed annual fee for regular travelers.
• Only non-commercial private vehicles like cars, jeeps, and vans can use it.
• Commercial vehicles such as trucks, taxis, and buses cannot apply for this pass.
• To use it, your vehicle must already have an active FASTag linked to your registration number.
• In a closed toll plaza, a round trip (entry and exit) counts as one crossing.
• In a point-based toll plaza, each crossing counts as one trip, so a round trip counts as two crossings.
• These rules help to prevent double toll deductions and ensure fair usage tracking.
• The pass is ideal for people who travel frequently, like daily commuters or those visiting their hometowns often.
